Minutes of the Branch Meeting in May 2008

 

20 Members in attendance

 

•  The meeting was opened by Terry Edge at 1945hrs and Terry went straight into the Bereavements and told the branch members that he and Alec had attended the Memorial for Major Tim Warr, the branch then held a minutes silence to remember the fallen.

•  The following apologies where accepted: Pop Whitwell, Sam Bloye, Fred Allen and Dennis Wright.

•  The minutes of the last meeting where read and duly accepted.

•  It was reported that the TA100 in Peterborough was a great success and members where reminded that the next TA 100 will be at Ely on the 8 th June.

•  Alec then told the branch about the visit to the Blenheim Gate trip he went on with the Cambridgeshire's

•  Terry Edge then urged members to attend the parade in Ely to celebrate the TA 100.

•  Terry then gave the dates of the Crime and Punishment walks in Peterborough, a suggested date was for the 17 th July. And the Ghost walk date was suggested as the 17 th June.

•  The dog night has been moved to later in the year and details should be available at the next meeting.

•  Members were reminded of the following date for Veterans Day parades: Whittlesey 20 th July, Peterborough 21 st June at Cathedral Square between 2 – 4pm.

•  The 200 year anniversary of the Battle Talavera and details of any arrangements will be made available at the next meeting.

•  Under Welfare it was reported that Jim Hayden is in Hospital and that Sam Bloye was still not very well.

•  Albert Smith's widow has died in a nursing home in Alma Road.
